Sodium thiocyanate CAS 540-72-7
Sodium thiocyanate is a colorless crystal containing 2 parts of crystal water. At 30.4 ℃, it loses its crystal water and becomes anhydrous sodium thiocyanate, which is soluble in water and ethanol. It is produced by azeotropic distillation of sodium cyanide and sulfur slurry in industry, and is one of the purification products of coke oven gas in coking plants. It is produced from the waste liquid of anthraquinone disulfonic acid method.
