Sodium Silicate CAS 1344-09-8
Sodium silicate, commonly known as bubble alkali, is a water-soluble silicate, and its aqueous solution is commonly known as water glass, which is a mineral binder. The ratio of quartz sand to alkali, i.e. the molar ratio of SiO2 to Na2O, determines the modulus n of sodium silicate, which displays the composition of sodium silicate. The modulus is an important parameter of sodium silicate, generally between 1.5 and 3.5. The higher the modulus of sodium silicate, the higher the content of silicon oxide, and the higher the viscosity of sodium silicate. It is easy to decompose and harden, and the bonding force increases. Therefore, sodium silicate with different modulus has different uses. Widely used in various fields such as ordinary casting, precision casting, papermaking, ceramics, clay, mineral processing, kaolin, washing, etc.

1.Sodium silicate mainly used as cleaning agents and synthetic detergents, but also as degreasing agents, fillers, and corrosion inhibitors.
2.Sodium silicate mainly used as an adhesive for printing paper, wood, welding rods, casting, refractory materials, etc., as a filling material in the soap industry, as well as a soil stabilizer and rubber waterproofing agent. Sodium silicate is also used for paper bleaching, mineral flotation, and synthetic detergents. Sodium silicate is a component of inorganic coatings and also a raw material for silicon series products such as silica gel, molecular sieve, and precipitated silica.
