    What is Polyethylene, Oxidized CAS 68441-17-8?

    Polyethylene oxide, referred to as PEO, is a linear polyether. Depending on the degree of polymerization, it can be liquid, grease, wax or solid powder, white to slightly yellow. The solid Chemicalbook powder has an n higher than 300, a softening point of 65-67°C, a brittle point of -50°C, and is thermoplastic; low relative molecular mass is a viscous liquid, soluble in water.

    Application

    1. Daily chemical industry: synergist, lubricant, foam stabilizer, antibacterial agent, etc.

    Provide a different smooth and soft feel, significantly improve the rheology of the product, and improve the dry and wet combing performance.

    In any surfactant system, it can improve the stability and shelf life of the foam, making the product feel rich.

    By reducing friction, the product is absorbed by the skin faster, and as an emollient and lubricant, it provides an elegant and luxurious skin feel.

    2. Mining and oil production industry: flocculants, lubricants, etc.

    In the oil production industry, adding PEO to the drilling mud can thicken and lubricate, improve the quality of the mud, control the loss of fluid at the wall interface, and prevent acid and biological erosion of the well wall. It can avoid the blockage of the oil layer and the loss of valuable fluids, increase the output of the oil field, and prevent the injection fluid from penetrating into the oil layer.

    In the mining industry, it is used for ore washing and mineral flotation. When washing coal, low-concentration PEO can quickly settle the suspended matter in the coal, and the flocculant can be recycled.

    In the metallurgical industry, high molecular weight PEO solution can easily flocculate and separate clay materials such as kaolin and activated clay. In the process of purifying metals, PEO can effectively remove dissolved silica.

    The complexation between PEO and the mineral surface helps to wet the mineral surface and improve its lubricity and fluidity.

    3. Textile industry: antistatic agent, adhesive, etc.

    It can improve the coating effect of textile acrylic coating glue on fabric.

    Adding a small amount of polyethylene oxide resin to polyolefin, polyamide and polyester, and melt spinning into fabric fibers, can significantly improve the dyeability and antistatic properties of these fibers.

    4. Adhesive industry: thickener, lubricant, etc.

    Polyethylene oxide film is widely used as packaging film for packaging agricultural products and toxic and hazardous items due to its advantages of water solubility, degradability and environmental protection. Extrusion blow molding has the advantages of simple operation, high efficiency, wide range of material selection, and low performance requirements for processed products. It is one of the most common processing methods for forming plastic films.

    Polyethylene oxide is an environmentally friendly material. The film produced is transparent and easy to degrade, which is better than other toughening agents.

    10. Pharmaceutical industry: controlled release agent, lubricant, etc.

    Added to the thin coating layer and sustained release layer of the drug, it is made into a controlled sustained release drug, thereby controlling the diffusion rate of the drug in the body and increasing the duration of the drug effect.

    Excellent water solubility and biological non-toxicity, specific drug functional materials can be added to make high-porosity, fully absorbable functional dressings; it has been successfully used for sustained release in osmotic pump technology, hydrophilic skeleton tablets, gastric retention dosage forms, reverse extraction technology and other drug delivery systems (such as transdermal technology and mucosal adhesion technology).

    11. Water treatment industry: flocculants, dispersants, etc.
