Octadecanamide CAS 124-26-5
Octadacanamide is a white or pale yellow faded powder. After recrystallization in ethanol, it becomes colorless leaf shaped crystals. Soluble in hot ethanol, chloroform, and ether, insoluble in cold ethanol, and insoluble in water. Relative density 0.96, melting point 108.5-109 ℃, boiling point 250 ℃ (1599.86Pa). The lubricity is lower than that of grease, and the duration is shorter. Poor thermal stability, with initial coloring properties. Combining with a small amount of higher alcohols (C16-18) can overcome the above drawbacks.
