    What is Nickel(Ⅱ) Hydroxide CAS 12054-48-7?

    The chemical formula of Nickel(Ⅱ) Hydroxide is Ni(OH)2, NiO·xH2O. It is a green hexagonal crystal. It is slightly soluble in water, easily soluble in acid and ammonia water, and insoluble in liquid ammonia. When heated. Nickel(Ⅱ) Hydroxide is slowly dehydrated to 230℃, and most of it becomes nickel oxide (II). Red heat is required for complete dehydration. Nickel(Ⅱ) Hydroxide cannot be oxidized in air or hydrogen peroxide, but it is easily converted into nickel hydroxide (III) in ozone. It can be oxidized by chlorine and bromine under alkaline conditions, but not by iodine.

    Application

    1. Battery materials: Nickel hydroxide is an important electrochemical material, mainly used to manufacture nickel-hydrogen batteries and nickel-cadmium batteries. These batteries are widely used in household appliances, mobile communication equipment, aerospace and other fields. Nickel hydroxide as a positive electrode material of the battery has a good cycle life and high energy density.

    2. Catalyst: Nickel hydroxide has excellent catalytic properties and can be used for hydrogenation reactions, hydrolysis reactions, redox reactions, etc. In the chemical industry, nickel hydroxide is often used as a hydrogenation agent for halogenated alkanes, and in the oil refining industry as a desulfurization and denitrification catalyst.

    3. Ceramic materials: Nickel oxide ceramics prepared from nickel hydroxide have high temperature stability, electrical properties and thermal expansion coefficient, and can be used to manufacture high-temperature ceramic capacitors, ceramic resistors, ceramic electronic components, etc.

    4.
