Methyl blue has been used as a model to study the effect of various catalysts on the photodegradation of dyes. Methyl blue is widely used in the preparation of plants and animals. Used in combination with eosin, it can stain nerve cells and is also an indispensable dye in bacterial production. Aqueous solution is the living dye of protozoa. Methyl blue is easily oxidized, so it does not last long after dyeing with it.
