Methoxypolyethylene Glycols CAS 9004-74-4
Polyethylene glycol monomethyl ether is a derivative of polyethylene glycol. It is soluble in water, ethanol and most highly polar organic solvents. It is less volatile than glycerol, has stable chemical properties, is not easily hydrolyzed and destroyed, and has strong hydrophilicity. It has low vapor pressure and is stable to heat. It is used as a thickener and lubricant in the textile printing and dyeing industry and the daily chemical industry. In the building materials industry, it is used as a raw material for cement water reducers and strengthening agents. The polycarboxylic acid high-efficiency water reducer synthesized using this raw material has a strong ability to retain the dispersibility of cement particles, making the product have the advantages of low dosage, high water reduction rate, good strengthening effect, durability, no corrosion of steel bars and environmental friendliness. It can be used in high-performance, high-strength (C60 or above) commercial concrete for on-site mixing and long-distance transportation.
