Malonic acid is mainly used in fragrances, adhesives, resin additives, pharmaceutical intermediates, electroplating and polishing agents, explosion control agents, and thermal welding fluxing additives. Used in the pharmaceutical industry for the production of luminal, barbiturates, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B6, phenylbutazone, amino acids, etc.
