Lithopone CAS 1345-05-7
Lithopone is insoluble in water and decomposes upon contact with acid, releasing hydrogen sulfide gas. It does not react with hydrogen sulfide or alkaline solutions and becomes light gray after 6-7 hours of exposure to ultraviolet light in sunlight. It still returns to its original color in the dark. It is prone to oxidation in the air and will clump and deteriorate when exposed to moisture.
