Pure thioglycolic acid is a colorless and transparent liquid, and the industrial product is colorless to slightly yellow with a strong pungent odor. Miscible with water, ethanol and ether. Perm products use thioglycolic acid to break part of the disulfide bond in the hair to change the degree of bending of the hair, so as to achieve the effect of perm and hairdressing.
