When used as a solid beverage gas generator, the acidic substance produces long-lasting and delicate bubbles; Fine chemical intermediates such as pharmaceuticals and optical bleaching agents. Used in the production of detoxifying drug sodium dimercaptosuccinate and drug for treating microcytic anemia with iron rich blood. Also used in the production of unsaturated polyester resins
