The smelting process involves two steps: the first step is to treat the tungsten ore with alkali to obtain WO3, and then reduce the tungsten trioxide with carbon or hydrogen to obtain metallic tungsten: WO3+3H2→W+3H2O2WO3+3C→2W+3CO2

    1. Manufacturing of high melting point alloys and cemented carbide. Tungsten trioxide is used to make alloys and cemented carbides with high melting points that provide stability in high-temperature environments.

    2. Manufacturing of tungsten wire and fireproof materials. It is also used in the manufacture of tungsten wire and fireproofing materials, thanks to its good heat-resistant properties.

    3. Electrochromic materials. Tungsten trioxide is an important electrochromic material that can be used in fields such as smart dimming glass, information displays, low-voltage pressure sensors, gas-sensitive sensors, spacecraft anti-reflective coatings and infrared emission regulation.

    4. Catalyst. It is an important catalytically active material that can be used as a main catalyst or an auxiliary catalyst. It is widely used in hydrodesulfurization, SCR denitrification, photocatalysis, etc.
    Solar cells and electrochemical applications. Tungsten trioxide is also widely used in solar cells, electrochemistry, photoluminescence, field emission and other fields.

    5. Photochromic materials. It is currently one of the most promising photochromic materials in the world and has application value in fields such as protection, decoration, and data storage.

    6. Dimmable glass. As an application of electrochromic film material, tungsten trioxide is based on the existing laminated glass manufacturing method, and the dimming film is firmly bonded between two pieces of ordinary float glass.

    7. Shielding materials. As a shielding material, tungsten trioxide has the advantages of good shielding effect, good breathability and washability. It can be made into metal fiber radiation-proof clothing and can also be used in medical shielding parts.
    Fuel cell carrier. Tungsten trioxide can partially replace carbon as the carrier of fuel cells, load precious metals, and form a Pt/WO3/C catalyst, thereby greatly improving the corrosion resistance of the catalyst and ultimately increasing the service life of the catalyst.

    8.Prepare the resistive element. As a sensitive material, tungsten trioxide has the advantages of simple structure, low cost, and high sensitivity. It can be used to prepare resistive components, such as NO2 gas sensors and H2S gas sensors.
