Ethylenetriaminepenta (methylene phosphonic acid), DETPMP is non-toxic and easily soluble in acidic solutions. It has excellent scale and corrosion inhibition effects and good temperature resistance, and can inhibit the formation of carbonate and sulfate scales. Its scale and corrosion inhibition performance is better than other organic phosphines in alkaline environments and high temperatures (above 210 ℃)

Ethylenetriaminepenta (methylene phosphonic acid) is an excellent corrosion and scale inhibitor for circulating cooling water and boiler water. It is particularly suitable as an unadjusted pH scale inhibitor for closed-loop and alkaline circulating cooling water in power plant ash flushing water systems. It can also be used as a scale inhibitor for oilfield water injection and cooling water with high barium carbonate content, boiler water, as well as a stabilizer for peroxide and chlorine dioxide fungicides.
