    What is Casein CAS 9000-71-9 ?

    Casein CAS 9000-71-9 is a non-crystalline, non-hygroscopic substance. It can dissolve 0.8-1.2% in water at room temperature, slightly soluble in 25℃ water and organic solvents, soluble in dilute alkali and concentrated acid, can absorb water, and expand rapidly when immersed in water, but mosquitoes do not bind. It is odorless, tasteless or has a slight aroma and taste. It is insoluble in water and alcohol. It dissolves in alkali solution to form caseinate. The isoelectric point is pH 4.6.

    Application

    1. Thickener; emulsifier; stabilizer; nutritional enhancer (fortified protein); binder; filler; carrier. It is especially suitable for cheese and ice cream, with a dosage of 0.3% to 0.7%, meat products (ham, sausage) 1% to 3% and aquatic minced meat products. Fortify the protein of bread and biscuits 5%; mayonnaise 3%.

    2. Casein CAS 9000-71-9 is mainly used as a base material for coatings, an adhesive for wood, paper and cloth, and a food additive. As a base material for coatings, it accounts for about half of the total consumption. It has excellent water resistance and can be well dispersed in pigments to improve the uniformity of coatings. In addition, due to its good fluidity and easy coating construction, crude rennet protein is mainly used to make plastic buttons. Compared with other resin buttons, casein buttons have good dyeability, processability, and color brightness, and their quality is in the middle and upper grades among buttons. Casein is evenly mixed with slaked lime, sodium fluoride, and copper sulfate, and then added with kerosene to obtain casein glue, which is a kind of adhesive used in the aviation industry and wood processing departments. Casein is also used in medicine and biochemical reagents.
