What is Bromocresol Purple CAS 115-40-2?

Bromocresol Purple is insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol and appears yellow, soluble in dilute sodium hydroxide and dilute sodium carbonate solutions and appears purple red, with a melting point of 241-242 ℃. The main use of bromocresol violet is as an acid-base indicator and a non-aqueous titration indicator.
