Ammonia acetate is a colorless or white granular crystal with a slight odor of acetic acid and is easily deliquescent. Heating causes decomposition. Soluble in water and ethanol, slightly soluble in acetone. It is prepared by neutralizing acetic acid with ammonia and evaporating and crystallizing the solution.
