It is white or light yellow crystal. 4-tert-Butylcatechol is mainly used as an efficient inhibitor in the distillation and storage of styrene, butadiene and other vinyl monomers. 4-tert-Butylcatechol is also used as an antioxidant for polyethylene, polybutadiene and synthetic rubber products, and as a stabilizer for pesticides.
